Thing 16 ;;
I did like Flickr's geotagging feature. It is a really neat feature, and I can see myself getting lost in it in my spare time. (... or homework time.)
I would just use this tool personally, again I don't really see the application to use it professionally.
Because it's fun!

Thing 15 ;;
I went to the Minnesota Public Radio Podcasting site, and listened to a few different podcasts there. Current song of the day, Grammar Greater and In the Loop.
I actually already get podcasts sent directly to my Microsoft Zune, I have a few channels that I am subscribed to, and I love getting them and watching/listening to them.
If Walt Whitman were alive today, I do think he would enjoy using podcasts.

Wow. This is an awesome tool. I can't get over how epic this is, and how I have lived without it all my life. This is going to help sooo much.
I liked the first Calculator a bit more, ( The Assignment Calendar )the Layout is a litter neater/cleaner. And it's a bit easier to understand and use.
How might they help me? When it comes to a project, I never really know where to start, or what to do next. So this tool could definitely help me, without a doubt.
I'm not sure if I would be able to use to on anything that doesn't relate to school. I can however see other people using it to complete personal projects.

Thing 13 ;;
I chose iGoogle as my start page. I chose this one mainly because I already have an account for Google, so I wouldn't need to go through the agonizing process of creating an account. And I know that Google, is a very well known system that is one day going to rule the world, so might as well get a head start on my obedience.
I will not make it my permanent home page, just because I already have a homepage I like, and I can work with that. But it is really neat, and I can see it being used as a rocking homepage.
I didn't find and tools that would help with school/work really. But I found a lot of fun tools like, a hamster ( I recommend this one ), ebay, healthy tip of the day and so on. Which were all kinda neat.
The online calendars can be useful just because they can help you remember everything you need to do. Put a date of importance down and if you log onto your computer (assuming that it is your homepage) you will not forget about the event.
The to-do list is helpful because it, like the calendars will help you to get stuff done assuming you turn your computer on at least once a day.
I didn't try out backpack, mainly because I searched for it and I couldn't find it. And the one I found, 'backpack reminder' needed me to enter an API, to use... so yeah.
TRY HAMSTER!!!
The End.

I think that Del.icio.us is a really handy tool, that can easily keep you connected to various things. Whether it be popular, so you can keep up to date on all the most hilarious things on the web, or something for school that you need to bookmark so you can find it later. It's great.
I can definitely see this tool coming into play in school and work. I think that sense it is 'just an easy way to create bookmarks that can be accessed from anywhere, does pave the way, for it to be used to school or work. Because you can access those easyily made bookmarks from any computer.

Thing 11 ;;
These tools could be used to show art work or photographs as a presentation.
The tools are very well organized, easy to navigate and to understand. It was pretty great.
I would definitely recommend it to other people. It is a very handy tool.
I don't really, like I said before in a different thing, I just use a image hosting site, and that is about it.

Thing 10 ;;
Could you use these tools for assignments or for work? I can't really say that I can think of a way to use them. It would really depend on what you are doing. Would it be possible to use them? Yes. Would I prefer t use them as a common tool? No.
Photosharing isn't that big of an issue with me, mainly because I haven't had any problems with it. As long as the person/persons/business/WHOEVER, is credited with work that you use. I believe you should be fine. On the other end of that, you just have to hope that if people use your stuff, you are getting credited for it also. But you can never be sure.

Flickr is pretty neat. I always avoided it because I didn't think I would enjoy it that much. But I might actually be able to get into it. I guess we will see.
Flickr could help you with school or work, maybe if you have a presentation due, you can find some nice pictures to use here.
I do use a different photo hosting service actually. I use photobucket, just to hold on to all of my pictures, and I use www.Dailybooth.com as my photosharing site.
The degree of interactiveness in these three are all different.
Photobucket, you have no interaction really, Flickr you have more and with Daily booth, you upload a picture everyday, and it goes into a stream where people can comment and photo comment you back. It's really fun actually.
I don't mind having my pictures as public, probably just because of the generation I am growing up in. Everyone has their images online, and nothing to horrible has happened... yet.

Thing 8 ;;
The whole wiki concept is neat, just because it is a huge conglomeration of different peoples knowledge, and ideas, brought together in one place. It's great.
I think teachers ban the use of Wikipedia because it isn't a reliable source. It is just people writing what they know, and it might not be completely fact.
I wasn't able to edit a Wiki on the Aimn23 page, I tried to click on edit, and it said I needed to request to be added to be able to edit. I still haven't gotten a verification for my request.
I don't listen to Led Zeppelin, but if I had to choose one, I would choose Led Zeppelin II just cause the album art was the nicest.

Thing 7 ;;
I would have to say that I preferred Google Docs. The formatting, text styles and paragraph styles all seem to be exactly like you were writing a document in word, which makes it very user friendly I think.
They are similar, but with Google Docs, you just get a much easier way to use the tools, the layout is much better.
Not really, like I said, they are pretty close, it's just the layout really.
Our Founding Fathers would probably have a heart attack if they would have seen these tools, but to answer the question, obviously I do think that it would have been easier for them to write it, can't really say if it would be better though.

Thing 6 ;;
Digg can be used to collect research for your next report or design project, by simply finding you a topic that you would like to write about that is current, popular and up to date, with information and links already right there at your convenience.
Digg can also be used to boost your reputation and credibility by posting your own, accurate headlines. People may come to look for more top stories from you, making your reputation and credibility both grow in a single bound. Another way to increase your popularity or reputations is by posting links to your headline, on your social media page that you are a part of. Friends and Family can see that you posted something on Facebook, or Myspace, follow the link and do what they want with it from there.
Reddit on the other hand, uses Twitter. In this aspect, combining these two, would really save you a lot of time. The news updates, or headlines could be posted onto your Twitter and vice versa.
Credibility. This is a major factor with these sites. Sites that don't have an editor to make sure everything is accurate, so they don't get sued. A way to tell if a story you find is creditable, is to look it up for yourself, do some research. Or, on the other hand. Usually if there is an actual article with a writer, and an editor and it is taken out of, or off of something that is strictly credible, you are most likely good to go.
...
This is my next Prompt.
"6. Tila or Nikki. Who would do more damage to the well-being of the orphaned dogs of a deceased lotion heiress? Explain your reasoning (if possible)."
All I can say is... Whuuuuut?

I ended up having to choose both Twitter and Plurk.
I set up a Twitter account, but I couldn't follow AIM16things on Twitter so I made a Plurk account to finish one of the tasks that I needed to complete.
The online journaling experience is unique because instead of all the other social networking sites, you get to see what people are doing right at the minute they make a post. If someone were to update a lot, it would almost be as if you were right there with them. It would probably get pretty annoying after a while though also, if there was someone constantly Tweeting.
When it comes to Twitter or Plurk, I can't really see it having any application with school or work really, unless you wanted to tell your coworker or colleuge that you are about to shred some paper, or go down to the student store, but there are better ways to do that also.
When it comes to Twitter and Plurk, it is more of something to do if you have a lot of time to keep up with it, and it would be easy to get lost in and forget about what your doing, but than so is every other social networking site. So pick your poison I guess.

Myfacespacebooking. Ahhh.
Alright, where to begin. Facebook and Myspace, I have both and I use both. It is a great tool for staying in touch with distant friends and family as well as making new friends and colleges.
Being a student here at Ai, Facebook and Myspace could come in handy with meeting other students at the school, by searching who attends said school. You can connect with the students, get to know them without leaving the safety and security of your own home.
Facebook and Myspace can also be used to promote yourself to potential employers, you could put your job history, your experience, where you went to school, what you went to college for, really anything you can think of can be on either of these social media sites. Employers can then look at your page and decide if you are right for them.
You might share different aspects with different people, which is great because you can choose what you want to show who on these social media sites. Me personally, I show pages that I am a fan of, pictures of me, and to top it off, some slight information about who I am.
Professional networking and social networking are really different from each other and it might be a good idea to maybe separate the two, whether it be with two accounts on the same site, or if you choose to use two different sites. This way you can keep your personal life and your work life separate. There may be things you don't want future employers to know, and this is a great way to avoid that problem.

My Ai Campus, or my portal is a great way to stay up to date on things that you need to have done or keep an eye on. I find almost all of My Ai Campus to be useful to me, whether it be because of the daily activity updates of things happening around the campus or checking my grades, or paying my bills. It is all useful.
Ai Campus is something all the students should use, and regularly check. It is such a great resource for students here at Ai and will help them to stay caught up on things that they need to do. It really does help, but that is only if you are checking it every day.
Some of the resources that I really found useful were the pay your bill / check your grades tool bar. Another thing that I really found useful is the fact that you are told right on your portal, that you have holds that need to be taken care of, and whether you will be able to register for classes or not.
A lot of the time I do have a problem with My Ai Campus, the link that takes you to your Google student account is usually broken and doesn't actually take you there. But overall, My Ai Campus is a great resource for every Ai student.

When it comes to RSS and newsreaders, I think that they are very handy tools, that will easily help me stay connected to everything I do, whether it be with school, or my personal life.
Teachers and media specialist libraries could take advantage of this technology by making it a way to do different homework assignments that would be relevant to finishing the project. Each student could create a blog and the teacher could go through the students blogs and read their assignments, without fingering through pages of homework, or opening around 100+ documents.
I think that just searching through the categories of feeds is the easiest way to find feeds that you may be interested in. Another way to find feeds, is to just search the feed, but then you need to actually know the URL.
